Currently, we have four vehicles that serve our community. We have three ambulances and a rescue truck primarily used for vehicle extrication. In Salem County, ambulances are designated, first, by their district (Woodstown is District 12), and then an 8 to signify that it is an ambulance. Rescue's are designated by their district and then a 9. If there are more than one particular unit in a district, then a letter is added at the end. Since the Woodstown-Pilesgrove area is served by three ambulances, we have 12-8, 12-8A, 12-8B, and of course, the rescue is 12-9.
Response Protocals
12-8 - Used primarily for stand-bys, parades, second-out for mutual aid calls, etc.
12-8A - Second-out for local calls, first out for mutual aid calls and fire calls.
12-8B - First-out for local calls, second out for fire calls, third-out for mutual aid calls.
12-9 - Used for accidents and set-up for rehabilitation for Reliance on fire calls.
